Senior Director for Process Management and Improvement, Intelligent Decisions, Inc.
Stephen Dempsey began his career in financial IT operations at Chemical Bank in New York City in 1983. He was the quality control manager for operations and customer service in deposit services and data conversion manager for the development of their demand deposit accounting system.
Steve then joined the FSLIC/FDIC in 1988 as a Sr. Systems Analyst during the savings in loan crisis. He later went on to work for Miaco Inc. in 1996, a private consulting company headquartered in Denver, CO. At Miaco, Steve worked as a Quality Assurance and Data Conversion Project Manager on a major development project for Discovery Communications that converted the Discovery and Learning channels programs to a new sophisticated Program and Commercial Scheduling and Accounting system and introduced the new Animal Planet channel.
In 1999, Steve joined Intelligent Decisions Inc. (IDI) where he served 10 years as the Program Manager for IDI’s Defense Logistics Agency portfolio of projects. This included establishing and managing a 24/7, technical operations supporting the Defense Energy’s Enterprise Fuel Accounting, Inventory and Stock Movement systems serving 4,000 users and 700 military bases worldwide. For his service he was awarded the Defense Energy Director’s Coin and a commendation from the Director of the Defense Logistics Agency. Steve is currently the Senior Director for Process Management and Improvement for IDI. Mr. Dempsey has developed and established the Process Management Program Office which is using a collaborative and practical approach to integrate ITIL and CMMI SVC best practices, both functional and IT services, throughout IDI’s organization and implementing Cherwell as the Service Management Tool. Steve has supported the Joint Task Force-J6, Guantanamo Bay, Cuba in process management to include asset, incident, and configuration management.
Steve is a certified ITIL Expert, PMP, and earned an Executive Certificate in Leadership and Management from Notre Dame University. Steve is a graduate of Susquehanna University with a degree in Economics.
